Our story

Two sisters and a second-hand grinder

We opened in 2021, after about eleven years of making coffee for other people. The door was already teal when we got the keys, so that became the name.

The grinder is cranky in winter and the first few shots of the day go in the bin. We would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.

Home coffee

Making it at home?

Most questions at the counter are about coffee at home. This is what we tell people.

  1. Weigh the coffee. 18 grams in and about 36 out, in around 28 seconds, is a fair place to start.
  2. Grind right before you brew. Stale grounds are the usual problem.
  3. Sour means grind finer. Bitter means go coarser.
